Do you have determination? Do you have creativity and good dance technique? Maybe you should look into being a choreographer. The process of getting to have this job is long but its worth it because being a choreographer could help people grow in their dancing career or inspire other dancers to go farther in their career as dancers. The requirements for this dance are a Bachelors or Masters degree in Choreography.
Some necessary skills for this job are leadership, creativity, discipline, and dance technique. A long-term passion for and participation in dance is essential to becoming a choreographer, as you must have an in-depth knowledge of dance, in order to teach it. A background is dance would also be helpful. A median annual wage for a choreographer is $38,120. This is only one of the many other advantages to this job. As a choreographer you get to express your creativity through creating pieces. You get to experience people growing a passion for what they are doing. You are giving people a way to express their creativity as well. Along with the advantages come disadvantages. With this job comes constant travel. Another disadvantage is long hours. The hours a choreographer works depends but usually they are working constantly. Family inbalance comes with the long balance, which leads to my nest disadvantage. Since they have to work such long hours, it limits your time to do other things. In conclusion, there may be some disadvantages to this job, but the advantages beat all the others. Being a choreographer is a pretty cool job. Go out and inspire other dancers.
